Very serious on Lombard.

This is my determined face (photo circa 2006 from the Lombard years). I’m just as determined today to make BYOBW happen! And happen it shall for everyone regardless of financial Bay Area wallet crunch constraints. We will never charge mandatory fees for riding! That means if you are living comfortably and can kick in extra green backs, please DONATE as it helps keep us rolling! Donations have been slower this year and a couple of our costs have increased by several hundred dollars each. Some really generous people stepped up so we have roughly $1500 to go to break even for this year.

I’m happy to report that one of our increased costs is for a really great cause. Our hay bales are going to be slightly more expensive this year because the type of hay we are getting can be re-used by Bound To The Herd, an equine rescue center in Paso Robles. Barring any rain that would ruin the hay, they’ll be able to use all 110 bales!

Now for the BYOBW 2019 Event Deets:

When: April 21st 2019, Kids ride 3pm-4pm and adult children go from 4pm-6pm sharp.

Kids 12 and under can ride a whole hour: 3pm-4pm (with legal guardian permission and supervision). We’ll need all of your cooperation to make this happen. That means clearing the street and being patient while the smaller humans have their time.

Where: Vermont St at 20th in beautiful and gracious Potrero Hill

Preregistration happens HERE. Don’t worry though, if you can’t register in advance then you can do it on site. The registration table is at the corner of the intersection, you can’t miss it.

NO METAL SPOKES, PEGS OR PIECES OF METAL STICKING OUT OF YOUR RIG. We really prefer non-metal trikes. If you have metal spokes or pegs you will be asked to tape them up, which is a pain in the butt to do. Plan accordingly. This event is all about making a fool out of yourself on a child’s plastic wheeled toy, not accidentally slicing or impaling yourself or your fellow riders. And it would be lovely if ya’ll could leave the rolling trash cans and office chairs at home.

Please be respectful of neighbors, only roll on the street closure, stay off of sidewalk gardens and always use the portapotties! There are potties at the top and bottom of the course and larger ones for those needing accessibility.

CLEANUP: Our event is a “Pack it In, Pack it Out”event. Meaning, we are not your mother so pick up your garbage and take it home with you. We do have an amazing recycling team at the event but we have to truck out and pay for all our trips to the city dump. The city does not pick up the event garbage. If you bring out a bunch of snacks and trikes, please take em home with you or find someone at the event that may be looking to repair them for future use.

Parking sucks – Take Muni or carpool, FOR RIDESHARE DROP OFF USE 20th and Kansas Street or one of the other blocks NOT at the main intersection of 20th and Vermont. That area can be a log jam yo.

No Smoking & No Alcohol according to our permit by order of the city of SF. There will be SFPD and Rec and Park officers on site.
